    Dimethyl silicone oil, a hydrophobic organic silicone raw material, boasts low surface tension, low volatility, stable chemical properties, and excellent film-forming properties. It is widely used in various fields, including pharmaceuticals, daily chemicals, machinery, and textiles. It is commonly used as a lubricant, anti-vibration oil, insulating oil, defoamer, and mold release agent.

    Due to its excellent chemical properties and low surface tension, dimethyl silicone oil is often added as a raw material to defoamers. Its main derivatives, polyol-modified silicone oil and chlorine-modified silicone oil, possess stronger defoaming and anti-foaming capabilities. The defoaming mechanism of dimethyl silicone oil defoamers is simple: it diffuses within the foam to form a double-layer film. During this diffusion process, it displaces the foam-stabilizing surfactant, thereby reducing the local surface tension of the foam, disrupting the foam's self-healing effect and causing it to burst.

    The causes of foam in industrial production are complex and diverse. Fluctuations in ambient temperature and pH can affect the chemical composition of industrial materials, leading to the formation of foam. Furthermore, the addition of chemical additives containing active substances during industrial production can also contribute to foam formation due to their foaming properties. Furthermore, the stirring of mechanical equipment, the influx of air, and chemical reactions between components can also affect the appearance of foam. This foam can negatively impact the progress and efficiency of industrial production and therefore needs to be eliminated promptly.

    Emulsion-type dimethyl silicone oil defoamers are readily soluble in water and easy to use. Currently, the most widely used dimethyl silicone oil defoamers are primarily emulsion-type. In the food industry, dimethyl silicone oil defoamers can be applied to the walls of containers during concentration and fermentation processes to effectively eliminate foam during production. In medicine, they can be used to eliminate gastric bloating before surgery. In the pharmaceutical field, they can be formulated into oral gastrointestinal deflatulence tablets and pulmonary edema defoaming aerosols. In the papermaking industry, they are often used to defoam black liquor. Dimethyl silicone defoamer has excellent defoaming and anti-foaming properties and rapid film-forming properties. It has little viscosity change in a wide temperature range, excellent heat resistance and acid resistance, low surface tension, and is insoluble in water, animal and vegetable oils, and high-boiling point mineral oils. It is suitable for defoaming and anti-foaming in most industries.
