Selection and application of water-based paint defoamer

After emulsion polymerization, it is made by adding pigment slurry to the latex. In the process of stirring and reconciling, it often foams violently. Foaming causes volume expansion, which reduces the utilization rate of the blending equipment. Foaming limits stirring speed, prolongs mixing time, and prevents sufficient wetting of pigments and fillers. After blending, it can be injected into the packaging barrel. The continuous injection production line is injected according to the volume. The foaming will prevent the barrel from being filled, and the foam will gradually burst, making the weight injected into the barrel uneven and interfering with continuous packaging. During the use of latex paint, the foam will cause surface defects, such as pits on the coating film, so that the bubbles will not burst until the paint is dry and the film is formed.
Types and application methods of water-based paint defoamers

Water-based coating defoamer is used in water-based coatings, inks, inks, varnishes, leather edge oils, paper coatings, laminating adhesives, latex paints, adhesives, and polyvinyl alcohol. It can be added in the system of silicone defoamer, or it can be added in batches to add half in the grinding stage to suppress foam generation, and then add the other half in the let-down stage. Especially suitable for water-based coating systems, it can prevent microfoam and macrofoam.
The types of water-based high-build paint defoamers include thick-build water-based paint defoamers, high-viscosity elastic paints, thick-build high-density latex paints, single-layer paints, varnishes, and defoamers for elastic brushed latex paints.
